AGU Union and Section Awards nomination submission is NOW OPEN!
AGU recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Earth and space sciences through scientific research, education, science communication and outreach. AGU also offer grants, scholarships and other benefits for students. AGU Honorees are recognized in Honors Explorer—browse through the history of winners or search for opportunities to inspire you to nominate yourself or a peer, colleague or student. AGU is committed to making AGU honors equitable, inclusive and more representative of all scientists within the AGU community.
Do you know any colleagues, mentors, or students worthy of recognition? The AGU Honors program (https://www.agu.org/honors) is now accepting nominations! From Union awards such as the Ambassador Award to section awards such as the Hydrologic Sciences Early Career Award, there are many opportunities to recognize the contributions of our fellow precipitation researchers.
If you are submitting an award, please feel free to reach out to the subcommittee at aguprecip@gmail.com and we can assist you with your submission, from identifying the most suitable award to reviewing your documents.
Or, if you don’t feel like you have the time or energy to work on a submission, we are looking for suggestions and we are willing to put together the nomination package, with some inputs from your side, like a suggestion on a point of contact for the nomination letter or a few names that could help us with reference letters etc.
The Awards Subcommittee of the AGU Precipitation Technical Committee has collated a list of awards that are relevant to precipitation researchers HERE.
The AGU nomination deadline is March 2, please reach out to us as soon as possible so we can start working on the package and make sure some of our peers will have the possibility to be recognized for their amazing work and career.
