September 2024 features the paper published by Nair et al. (2024): On the Challenges of Simulating Streamflow in Glacierized Catchments of the Himalayas Using Satellite and Reanalysis Forcing Data . This work investigates the uncertainty of streamflow simulations due to climate forcing and model parameter/structure uncertainty and quantifies the relative importance of each source of uncertainty and its impact on simulating different streamflow components in glacierized catchments of High Mountain Asia. Check the website for more information and the DOI to download the paper.

July 2024 features the paper published by Derin and Kirstetter (2022): Evaluation of IMERG Over CONUS Complex Terrain Using Environmental Variables. Study characterizes orographic precipitation mechanisms through the analysis of atmospheric and moisture movement conditioned by topography (environmental parameters), offering valuable insights into the sources of uncertainty in IMERG performance over mountainous terrain. Check the website for more information and the DOI to download the paper.

Dear Colleagues, It is with broken hearts we must report that our cherished colleague Professor Thomas Meixner, Chair of the Department of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences, was killed October 5 th in his office at the University of Arizona. Dr. Meixner had generously and graciously served the community in countless ways, and was held in the highest of esteem. We are in shock at this terrible and senseless loss of this pillar of our community. We, the hydrology community, will miss him dearly, and mourn in with his family and friends. On Behalf of Ana, Shirley and John

Dear Hydrology Community, Based on feedback from our community, and the currently low numbers of nomination submissions, AGU is pushing back the nomination deadline to 15 April (it had been 1 April) for all honors programs-Fellows, Section Awards, and Union medals, awards, and prizes. AGU wants to make sure there is time and flexibility for participants to put together quality nomination packages while at the same time balancing the needs of the program and taking into consideration the time needed for volunteers to review nominations. Therefore, there will not be an opportunity to extend past the 15 April date. We will be updating communications, where we ...

Dear Colleagues, Over the last few years, it has become increasingly challenging to run the OSPA program and meet its fundamental goals that are to nurture interactions between experienced researchers and students, to provide feedback and encouragement on ongoing research, and to highlight the importance of communication in science. This is a very important mission for us. Due to the increasing number of students presenting at the Fall Meeting, the inadequate number of volunteers to help, mostly due to scheduling conflicts, and coordination challenges, there has been an increasing number of student presentations that are overlooked, resulting in increasing ...
