Today, 1 March, is the final day to submit nominations for an AGU Union Medal, Award, or Prize, and for a Hydrology Section Award or Lecture. To help determine where to focus efforts, open the attached Excel file for a list of honors by program so you can view specific activity, including where we are, and are not, seeing submissions. Please remind your peers and colleagues to submit nominations by 11:59 PM ET!

Asahiko Taira International Scientific Ocean Drilling Research Prize
The Asahiko Taira International Scientific Ocean Drilling Research Prize recognizes outstanding, transdisciplinary research accomplishment in ocean drilling to an individual within 15 years of receiving their Ph.D. The recipient of this prize will receive a $18,000 monetary prize and an invitation to give a talk at AGU's annual meeting in December.

The Waldo E. Smith Award recognizes a senior scientist for extraordinary service to Earth and space science. Successful candidates have strengthened and helped advance our scientific disciplines, as well as played unique leadership roles in scientific associations, education, legislation, research, management, philanthropy, or the public understanding of science.
