We welcome feedback and suggestions for how to prioritize discretionary funding for Section activities in 2024.

How Did It Go? Let Us Know!

AGU experimented with an extended annual meeting this year, with online programming for one week in January, in addition to the in-person and online programming in December. The Education Section is offering to compile and anonymize section member feedback about your January AGU program experience to share with AGU meeting program organizers. If you have thoughts that you would like us to include about the January programming experiment, please submit them here

The Distinguished Lecture Series in 2024

The Education Section welcomes Dr. Kim Kastens as she continues to be our AGU College of Fellows Distinguished Lecture presenter in 2024! Dr. Kastens’ current education research investigates the “how” of scientific inquiry––how we ask questions, how we interpret data, and how we use models. Her Distinguished Lecture presentation will focus on “Geoscience Education Research: What it is and Why it Matters.” Please consider inviting Kim as a virtual speaker this year! To request a lecture, complete a speaker request form.
