The DEI and Early Career committees are hosting a virtual town hall series to support early career scientists and provide space for a dialog between our membership and leadership in the field. The first of these events “Is This Sustainable? The State and Future of Earth Science Careers” will be a cross-career stage panel discussion about folks’ views on whether the Earth Sciences will provide viable career paths.

It is not too late! AGU Award & Honors Season is open through 27 March!

Consider nominating a colleague, mentor or student for an AGU award!

Receiving an honor or becoming an AGU Fellow gives the recipient’s career a big boost and shows that their community recognizes their contributions. Let’s cast a broad net of nominations this year!
The AGU Canvassing Committee is here to help.
  • Contact us if you have questions about the process; would like to suggest someone to be nominated; or anything else.
  • We recommend that you start putting a nomination package together early!
  • There are valuable “How-To” series on Youtube, created by the section’s DEI Committee, which held online workshops and office hours to help with preparing a nomination package.
