    AGU has a variety of awards created to spotlight the important work being done by the International community in the Earth and space sciences. We encourage you to consider nominating qualified colleagues, mentors, peers, and early career individuals for one of the awards listed below.

    ·       Africa Award for Research Excellence in Earth or Ocean Sciences is given annually to an early career scientist from the African continent in recognition of significant work that shows the focus and promise of making outstanding contributions to research in Earth or ocean sciences. The recipient of this award will receive a $1,000 monetary prize, three-year membership to AGU as well as travel and meeting registration support for the AGU Fall Meeting through the Lloyd V. Berkner Travel Fellowship Fund. Nominate someone by 12 April!

    ·       Devendra Lal Medal is given annually to an early- or mid-career scientist in recognition of outstanding research in Earth and/or space sciences by a scientist belonging to and working in a developing country. The recipient of this award will receive a lifetime membership to AGU and is eligible to become a conferred Fellow of AGU. Nominate someone by 12 April!

    ·       International Award  is given annually to an individual or group in recognition of making an outstanding contribution to furthering the Earth and space sciences and using science for the benefit of society in developing nations. The recipient of this award will receive travel support to the AGU Fall Meeting during the award presentation year. Nominate someone by 12 April!
