Mark Moldwin is an Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering and Applied Physics at the University of Michigan. He is active in ground and space-based geospace research, a variety of educational activities, and plays leadership roles in a number of STEM and Earth and Space Sciences Education initiatives and organizations. He was recognized for his "extraordinary service to geophysics" with the 2016 AGU Union Waldo E. Smith Award. His goals for the new AGU Education Section includes developing strong collaborations and communication mechanisms for AGU members and the broader Earth and Space Sciences community and to work closely with existing AGU Education Programs to enhance their impact and reach.
