Missy Holzer, PhD, is a science curriculum designer and professional development facilitator with expertise in science standards curriculum integration and implementation. She taught high school Earth and space science courses, AP Environmental Science, and dual-credit physical geography for over 30 years, and continues to teach undergraduate students at Rutgers University, and graduate students in the Endeavor STEM Certificate Program. Her teaching methods are centered on accessing, analyzing and interpreting data to foster the skill of arguing from evidence. Her goal as a K-12 Working Group Co-chair is to connect K-12 educators with exemplary instructional resources adaptable for most every teaching scenario.
She has a BS in Environmental Planning and Design (Cook College, Rutgers University), MAT in science education (The College of New Jersey), MS in physical geography (Rutgers University), and a PhD in the Learning Sciences (Graduate School of Education, Rutgers University). Missy’s career interests include teaching and learning science with an emphasis on climate science, and in designing effective pedagogies to support educators in the teaching and learning of science.
