Bring Soil Science to Life: Grant Opportunity for Educators!

The Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) and the Agronomic Science Foundation (ASF) believe that the best way to learn science is by doing it. Many educators face a major hurdle: the cost of specialized equipment. Whether it’s exploring soils in general or soil chemistry, biology, or physics, SSSA and ASF want to help you clear that hurdle.

SSSA and ASF are thrilled to offer ten $750 grants to help you transform your classroom using instructional resources from Soils4Teachers.org or elsewhere. This funding is designed to get high-quality tools and materials directly into your hands—and your students'. By bridging the budget gap, SSSA and ASF aim to spark a lifelong passion for the environment and agriculture in the next generation of scientists.

Key Dates:

  • May 15, 2026: Proposal deadline
  • June 10, 2026: Awardees notified

Summer Online Workshop on Water Resources Management for Undergraduate Students

Join us this summer for an engaging, hands-on workshop exploring real-world challenges in water resources management. Designed for undergraduate students from any major enrolled at U.S. universities, this hybrid program combines two online live sessions (June 15–16) with an asynchronous component (June 17–26), offering flexibility while building meaningful skills.
Participants will examine issues such as water scarcity, pollution, and governance through interactive activities, case studies, and peer discussions. Using tools like game theory and multi-criteria decision-making, students will explore how communities make complex decisions about shared water resources and develop collaborative solutions.

A stipend is available for undergraduate participants. Spots are limited––apply by May 31! Interest form: https://utaedu.questionpro.com/SummerWRMGT
