AGU26 abstract submissions are now open! We invite submissions to our AGU26 session:
H083: Hydrologic Controls and Feedbacks in Soil, Plant, and Atmospheric Processes
This session focuses on how hydrologic processes shape interactions among soils, plants, and the atmosphere. We welcome observational, experimental, theoretical, and modeling studies that advance process-based understanding across scales, ranging from plant hydraulics and root-zone soil moisture to catchment transport, land–atmosphere coupling, and regional climate feedbacks.
Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:
- Hydrologic controls and feedbacks on water, nutrients, and sediment cycling
- Soil-plant hydraulics and stomatal regulation
- Rainfall intermittency and soil moisture feedbacks
- Land–atmosphere feedbacks and moisture recycling
- Biological adaptation to water stress
- Nonlinearities, thresholds, and hysteresis
- Optimality, stochasticity, and ecosystem self-organization
