    Dear Geoscience Instructors

    Looking for a powerful way to engage students in Earth science and allied fields?

    Near-surface geophysics methods can be applied to a wide range of societally important topics and future careers, from natural hazards and groundwater resources to forensics and infrastructure engineering.

    In-person Instructor Workshop:  Teaching Near-surface Geophysics to Undergraduates from Intro to Majors

    • Tue-Thu July 7-9, 2026

    • Colorado School of Mines campus, Golden, CO

    • This workshop provides the foundation for Earth science instructors to integrate near-surface geophysics instrumentation and methods into their undergraduate courses. Featured methods will be ground penetrating radar (GPR), active seismic, electrical resistivity, and real-time kinematic GPS/GNSS surveying.

    • The workshop will provide hotel accommodation during the workshop and up to $750* towards travel expenses for accepted participants.

    • Application Deadline: March 27, 2026
