AbSciCon 2019 Primer

The Astrobiology Program at the University of Washington is pleased to announce a one-day primer on Sunday, 23 June 2019 for students who are new to the field of astrobiology. This primer will present key concepts and theories through lectures and lab demonstrations that explore the origin of life, Earth history, Martian habitability, life on icy satellites, and habitable exoplanets. Transportation between the Bellevue Hyatt Regency and the University of Washington, as well as lunch on campus, will be provided for all participants. All undergraduates, graduate students, and post-docs attending AbSciCon 2019 are eligible for this event.


To apply please send a 1 page explanation of your research interests and career status to Rory Barnes, rory@astro.washington.edu, by 10 May 2019. Inquiries regarding the primer should also be directed to him. Applicants will be selected by 17 May 2019.
