Thursday
Storycorps (4:30-6:00 PM, recording at the Marriott Marquis). Tectonophysics has been allotted a 90-min slot, where we can tell our stories for posterity. Each story takes 20 min to stage and record, so we have just four openings. You can have up to four participants (from any section) in the recording booth for your story. Questions? Contact Felicita Wight or Ross Stein. Sign up here; first-come, first-served.
Don’t forget about the Tectonophysics Early Career event! This will take place on Thursday, December 13th from 6-7:30 pm at the Grand Hyatt Rooms D and E on the Independence level. This will be moderated by Lindy Elkins-Tanton (Univ. AZ) with brief sketches by five young scientists working at universities, government agencies, and consulting, insurance, and resource exploration companies. With refreshments, schmoozing, and a cash bar. Grand Hyatt Washington, Independence Level, Rooms D & E. And it’s free.
