Nominations Needed for the 2026 Election
In 2026, AGU will host an election to select new members for the AGU Board and Council. Open seats are available for Board Director, Council Student / Early Career Scientist, and Section Leadership. If you know someone that might be a good AGU volunteer leader, please consider nominating them!

This online form asks for your name and email, the name and email of the person you’d like us to consider, the position you think is best for them, and why you are recommending them for that position. We will follow up with the names submitted. You do not need to contact the person in advance; this is a no-obligation step of the process.
You are also encouraged to share the link with others in your network. Multiple submissions are allowed. Nominations are open to anyone; you do not need to be a member to nominate someone or to be nominated. Membership is also not required to submit a name or to have your name submitted.
"I Volunteer!" Ribbons at AGU's Annual Meeting
Some of our current volunteers will be wearing colorful “I Volunteer” ribbons at AGU25; this includes section leaders, committee leaders, and members of the Board and Council. If you see someone with this ribbon, consider asking them about their AGU volunteering experience!
