Section canvassing committees activities include

  • Review Section member lists and demographic reports to find viable nominees for AGU honors
  • Identify both potential nominees and nominators to craft nomination packets
  • Provide support to nominators on crafting nomination packets

How do I start a canvassing committee?
Many sections task their past presidents and past honorees with putting together a group of section members to lead canvassing efforts. Committees should begin their work early in the nominations You can also recruit canvassing members using AGU's volunteer module. To help setup a volunteer opportunity, reach out to us at AGU-SectionHelp@agu.org.
