Looking forward to Fall Meeting

It’s hard to believe it’s November already, and December is just around the corner. The Science and SocietY (SY) Executive Committee is in the midst of much AGU Fall Meeting preparations. Our #AGU21 gathering in New Orleans will have lots of fun in-person events - be sure to sign up for our Science and Society Luncheon and Career Panel (check those boxes during meeting registration). For those attending virtually, a rich program and innovative hybrid sessions are planned. This hybrid meeting is an exciting opportunity to uncover new ways to connect and rediscover the more traditional ones!

In the next few weeks, we will have more frequent newsletters highlighting things to look for during the meeting as well as provide updates of particular interest to the SY section. Stay tuned! We are looking forward to seeing you in New Orleans and online everywhere on 13-17 December 2021.

Volunteer needed

We are looking for your help in supporting our SY students. The Outstanding Student Presentation Awards (OSPA) are an important part of Fall Meeting. Volunteers are critical to the program’s success. We need an OSPA Coordinator to help recruit volunteer judges, manage judging assignments and select our SY winners based on review scores. If you are interested in serving as an OSPA Coordinator for SY this year, please email Maggie Walser.
