Study of the Earth’s Deep Interior

The AGU galvanizes a community of Earth and space scientists that collaboratively advance and communicate science to both the public and scientific community to ensure a sustainable future. The role of AGU Sections is to connect you with other scientists engaged in interdisciplinary research that involves two or more AGU Sections. The section of Studies of the Earth’s deep interior (SEDI or DI) is dedicated to understanding the internal structure of the Earth (and other bodies) at depths inaccessible by direct sampling. A primary goal of SEDI is to address fundamental questions about the origin, evolution, composition and dynamics of Earth’s interior.
