Ocean Sciences

Dedicated to conducting research across three fourths of the planet, the Ocean Sciences Section is necessarily large and inclusive. The section welcomes members whose primary interests are marine related, regardless of discipline. The section is organized into four subsections that provide broad areas for representation in section governance and activities: biological oceanography, marine geochemistry, marine geology and geophysics, and physical oceanography.

Join us for the Ocean Sciences Meeting on 22-27 February 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland!!

    

The Ocean Sciences Meeting (OSM) is the flagship conference for the ocean sciences and the larger ocean-connected community. 

 

OSM26 provides the opportunity to share research, collaborate across disciplines and create deeper connections with a diverse group of attendees from universities, research centers, and across the wider scientific community, all while accessing the world-class content that this meeting offers.

The 2024 meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana brought together more than 5,500 ocean scientists and almost 6,000 total attendees from 60 countries.

 

More than 100 scientific organizations and oceanic-focused companies participate in OSM as partners, sponsors, or exhibitors.

OSM26 is an Endorsed Decade Action program with the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
