LANDInG Partnership
AGU LANDInG is a new initiative to develop and support strong networks and collaborative resources for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) leaders across STEM. We are launching this effort with a focus on achieving these outcomes within the geoscience community, by building two core resources for deepening DEI capacity within the discipline: 1) a Community of Practice (CoP) to develop and support (inter)national networks of DEI learning and leadership; and 2) the LANDInG Academy, a selective cohort-based DEI leadership development program. Our efforts are currently supported by funding from the National Science Foundation and the American Geophysical Union (AGU); AGU is deeply committed to ensuring the sustainability and growth of these programs well into the future.
More details on AGU LANDInG are found here. The LANDInG CoP invites organizations working to broaden participation to partner with our effort. Potential new partners are reviewed and considered quarterly upon the below application request.
What does it mean to be a LANDInG Partner, how would my organization benefit?
There are no fees associated with LANDinG Partnership. Operationally, we will advertise your organization as a partner on our LANDInG website, with your designated logo. We also request and post your events into the LANDInG CoP current events page following agreed upon Community of Practice guidelines.
The LANDInG Community of Practice will operate as a widely publicized source of curated and evidence-based DEI-related resources (e.g., exemplar policies, practices, programs; research evidence) relevant to the STEM community. LANDInG employs a full-time Community of Practice manager and resource librarian to ensure the quality and value of these resources. Engagement with broader audiences for larger impacts is part of the LANDinG mission.
LANDInG COP also operates with multiple topical resource and communications channels. By becoming a partner, the LANDInG content library can be used as a conduit for sharing and promoting resources developed by your organization to broader audiences, including current and aspiring DEI STEM leaders. For example, partner organizations will be able to promote events (e.g., conferences, meetings, webinars, workshops) and membership through the LANDInG Community of Practice “Current Events Page” and “DEI News” tools.
The only expectation of your organizational partners is to provide a link back to the LANDinG Community of Practice on your organization’s website and to support awareness of the LANDInG efforts among your membership.
