    Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you to submit abstracts to the AGU Fall Meeting Session
EP018: Hydrodynamics of meandering rivers: The role of simulation
Hydrodynamics in meandering rivers has been the subject of intense research since the last century. Most studies focus on the three-dimensional structure of the flow in river bends using laboratory and field measurement data. With the advancement in numerical methods, the use of high-fidelity numerical simulations in rivers, especially Large Eddy Simulation, has been recently popular among researchers and provided a wealth of new knowledge in this area. It is essential for the community to have a cross-talk between the experimental observations and the simulation results to harness fruitful discussions on flow transition in meandering rivers. This session is proposed to be a venue for geomorphogic modelers to exchange their novel ideas and set out new directions for river hydraulics.
