I am currently recruiting graduate students to start in August, 2020 in the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences at New Mexico Tech. I'm looking for students with research interests broadly related to surface processes, fluvial geomorphology, and process sedimentology. Projects available involve assessing bedform kinematics in modern and ancient systems using a suite of approaches including, but not limited to: physical experiments, numerical modeling, repeat multibeam sonar, and other field observations.

The Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences is dedicated to promoting a diverse and inclusive culture both at New Mexico Tech and in the broader STEM community. Students with non-traditional or underrepresented backgrounds and/or a passion for advancing equity and accessibility in STEM are therefore especially encouraged to apply.

Interested students should contact me, Kate Leary (kate.leary@nmt.edu), for more information regarding application details and potential projects. Please provide a brief summary of your interests and relevant background. Additional information about degree offerings and requirements can be found at https://www.nmt.edu/academics/ees/grad/graduate.php. The application deadline for students looking to start in Fall 2020 is January 15, 2020.

Please share with anyone who might be interested!
