Launching the Hydrology Section’s Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee

Dear AGU Hydrology Section members and friends,

The Hydrology Section is launching a formal committee to focus on justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) issues at the Section level The Section's Executive Committee approved this new committee in December 2020. The broad goal of this standing committee is to bring all Hydrology Section members together to make actionable changes towards a more equitable, diverse, inclusive, and just community.

The Section’s JEDI committee will consist of 15 voting members representing all career stages, and we seek applications from our community to take part in this effort.  We are looking for both self-nominations and nominations.   In the case of self-nominations to be considered for the committee, we ask that you upload your CV and complete a short application form at:  https://forms.gle/bFAHd7hNHR8XBxyT8

For nominations, please send a brief email to Meredith Richardson (email contact below).  The Section’s Executive Committee will review applications beginning on March 1, 2021 and strongly encourages all of you to consider applying. Committee membership is open to all Section primary, secondary and tertiary members.  This committee will play a vital role in shaping the future of the Hydrology Section and the Hydrology community.

For nominations and more information, please contact Meredith Richardson (mlricha2@illinois.edu), who will forward your email to the appropriate party in the Section's Executive Committee.  You may also view the Section’s draft JEDI workplan at https://drive.google.com/file/d/17b6LezeFA1UJTCsGlWgJNFtFJ9-m5cVU/view
