Our carbon footprint is one the most important and poorly understood numbers to clarify our contributions to climate change. If you told me that my annual carbon footprint was around 44,000 lbs of carbon dioxide, would that be good? Bad? To better understand these vital numbers and see what all goes into a carbon footprint, I calculated the carbon emissions of nine popular superheroes, each of whom reflects an aspect of our very human behaviors. We still need our heroes to help save the world, but now, by looking at their behaviors and being aware of our own behaviors, we can all be superheroes, too.
