Dr. Alicia Petersen is a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at the Air Force Research Laboratory in Albuquerque, NM. She researches the impacts of interplanetary propagation on space weather. She studies correlations with variations in the time-intensity profiles of solar energetic proton observations and magnetic connectivity modeling for solar energetic particle events. She has previously been involved in diversity, equity, inclusion endeavours at the University of Michigan, including leading the Graduate and Undergraduate Student Organization in the Climate and Space Sciences Department (CLASP), organizing the CLASP Ladies’ Lunch - Supporting Women in Climate and Space, and has previously held the position of Graduate Student Representative in CLASP Faculty Meetings, and the CLASP Curriculum Development Committee.

Alicia is currently the Early Career Representative for the AGU Education Executive Committee and co-chair of the Student and Early Career Working Group.
